As part of my SMAD 201: Foundations of Visual Communication final project, my group and I created a full multimedia campaign for First Step: A Response to Domestic Violence, a local nonprofit supporting survivors of abuse.
Our campaign, “Be the First Step,” encouraged college students and young adults to get involved through volunteering and advocacy. I was the lead creator of our video PSA, where I applied my skills in After Effects to develop a time-based piece that reinforced our campaign’s visual tone and emotional message. I also contributed to the overall visual direction and typography across the poster and social media deliverables, ensuring everything remained cohesive and on-brand.
We blended soft purples, handwritten textures, and bold type to strike a balance between empathy and empowerment. This campaign let me bring together design, storytelling, and motion, using InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and After Effects, to create something that felt both heartfelt and professional.
Graded A, with feedback highlighting our creativity, visual consistency, and impact.
